Track and field may not be as well-paying as other sports such as football, basketball and tennis but who are the athletics stars that invested their earnings in new houses this year?

The year 2024 has been great for a number of athletes with some of them coming to prominence following their success at the Paris Olympics.

With their success on the track came some big bucks and they have invested the money in different ways.

However, some of them decided that it was best to slash on new homes, securing their futures when still at their prime. So, who are the track stars that either bought or built new homes in 2024?

Noah Lyles

Shortly after his engagement to Jamaican sprinter Junelle Bromfield in October, Olympics 100m champion Noah Lyles made a major statement of commitment when he bought a new home.

Lyles surprised his fiancé with the keys to the new house which left her speechless, swapping their former humble abode for a much bigger space.

Going by what Bromfield has been posting ever since, it appears it is a four-bedroom house which came with an expansive living room and an indoor swimming pool and Lyles’ wife-to-be has spared no effort in making it welcoming and hospitable.

Masai Russell

Olympics 100m hurdles champion Masai Russell was among the breakout stars of 2024 when she sprinted to an unlikely gold medal in Paris, flooring her more experienced rivals.

The sprinter would also run at the Athlos NYC where she made more money with a third-place finish and at just 24, she is a homeowner.

Russell has not opened up the doors to her new house to fans but she has been giving periodic updates as she moves in.

It is not known how big her new home is but she has been thrilled with her investment, making fresh new purchases such as furniture, kitchen and electronic appliances.

Mary Moraa

Unlike the aforementioned, Kenya’s 800m champion Mary Moraa completed the construction of her mansion this year, having taken time to finish the project.

Moraa, who won bronze at the Paris Olympics, before winning the Diamond League title, has her new home nestled behind a bold blue steel gate.

The mansion greets visitors with a driveway paved with durable cabro blocks, leading to an exterior painted in warm shades of orange, cream and brown.

Moraa’s mansion has a giant living room which flows seamlessly into a dining area with an open kitchen adjacent. The house boasts of a master bedroom with other rooms on the upper floor that include a guest bedroom, a children’s bedroom, a study with custom shelving, and a cozy family room, which also has a balcony that mirrors the master bedroom’s lush greenery.
