As the track and field season comes to an end this weekend with the Prefontaine Classic, 2000m world record holder Jakob Ingebrigtsen just like other athletes, has his own plans underway.
The 22-year-old track star will be wedding his gorgeous fiancée Elisabeth Asserson, after being together for more than five years.

During a pre-race interview, when he was asked about his off-season plans, Ingebrigtsen said: “I believe I’m getting married next Saturday. I will also be relaxing and just doing easy training and working towards next year.”
However, the two-time world 5000m champion will have to successfully compete in his two races at the Prefontaine Classic before shifting his main focus to the wedding.
He will first contest the Bowerman Mile – the final event on the programme on Saturday – before returning to the track on Sunday for the 3000m.
“First, I’m here to run the mile, that’s the most important objective of this meeting. It’s my first mile of the season and the Diamond League final, so I’m hoping to get another trophy and a good time.

The event will take place at the Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon on Saturday and Sunday with vigorous track and field action expected.

Speaking about the world record that currently stands at 3:43.13, Ingebrigtsen noted that the conditions will determine if he will smash it or not.
