Puerto Rico sprinter Jasmine Camacho-Quinn has revealed the perks that athletes have access to at the women’s-only Athlos event compared to other track meets around the world.

Olympics 100m hurdles bronze medalist Jasmine Camacho-Quinn has shared the different vibe that athletes are experiencing at the Athlos event.

The women’s-only event, set to take place in New York on Thursday, has brought together some of the world’s top athletes and besides, the $60,000 on offer for each winner, the whole setup has wowed the Puerto Rican sprinter.

“The vibe is completely different, we are just women and the prize money is a lot bigger than what we get at other meets,” Jasmine Camacho-Quinn told CITIUS MAG.

“We went and did photo shoots, video stuff and all of us were just being girls because we never have this opportunity so it is good for us we are able to get in work mode and still enjoy it

“This is a lot bigger than what we’re used to, we just do press conferences when we go overseas and that it.

“Here, they do makeup. I’m trying to get adjusted to a full face of makeup right now! Everything here is just so fun.

“We knew this meet was coming up so we had to kind of stay in work mode anyway so it was not like it is the last month of the season and we are tired.”

The 100m hurdles is one of the events to look forward to at the meet as it will pit Jasmine Camacho-Quinn against her fierce rivals, led by Olympics champion Masai Russell, who floored her to win gold at the Paris 2024 Games.

Others are Jamaica’s Danielle Williams, Americans Alaysha Johnson and Tonea Marshall as well as Charisma Taylor from Bahrain.

The meet, a brainchild of Reddit founder Alexis Ohanian, has also the 100m, 200m, 400m, 100m, 800m and 1500m races.
