Thompson-Herah has reacted for the first time since parting ways with coach Reynaldo Walcott amid talks of a sensational reunion with Stephen Francis' MVP Track Club

After weeks of speculation and media frenzy surrounding her coaching situation, Elaine Thompson-Herah, the world's fastest woman alive, has finally broken her silence.

The Jamaican sprint icon took to her X (formerly Twitter) page to share a message, giving fans a glimpse into her mindset amidst the turbulence.

The controversy began when it was confirmed that fellow Jamaican track star and five-time world champion, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, had parted ways with coach Reynaldo Walcott, who also trains Thompson-Herah.

This fueled rumors that the double Olympic sprint champion was on the verge of making a similar exit from the Elite Performance Track Club.

Adding to the speculation, reports emerged suggesting that Thompson-Herah might return to the MVP Track Club, where she was initially groomed for greatness by legendary coach Stephen Francis.

If true, this would mark her third coaching change in just three years, following unsuccessful stints with her husband, Derah Herah, and coach Shanikie Osbourne, before her recent collaboration with Walcott.

Despite the swirling rumors, there has been no official confirmation from Thompson-Herah's management regarding her potential split from Walcott. Instead, the five-time Olympic gold medalist appeared undeterred by the situation, as indicated by her recent posts on X.

"I will always and forever grateful," she wrote, accompanied by a series of photos that suggest she may have already begun her preparations for the 2025 season.

Thompson-Herah's rocky relationship with coach Walcott culminated in a challenging 2024 season.

After a dramatic split from coach Osbourne in November 2023, she joined Elite Performance Track Club under Walcott’s guidance, determined to make history at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Her goal was to become the first woman to win back-to-back sprint double titles at three consecutive Games, following her dominance in the 100m and 200m events at the 2016 Rio Olympics and Tokyo 2021.

Unfortunately, her Olympic dream was derailed by an Achilles tendon injury sustained at the NYC Grand Prix in May 2024. The injury forced her to withdraw from the Jamaican Olympic trials, abruptly ending her quest for Paris glory.

While the official news of her potential split from coach Walcott remains pending, reports indicate that Thompson-Herah may reunite with Stephen Francis in a bid to reclaim her peak form ahead of the 2025 season. Francis, who previously guided her to her sprinting supremacy, could be the key to reviving her Olympic ambitions.
