“Tuesday, Jan 16th, 2024, my world changed for the better. My son was born, and he has my whole heart plus more. Truly, my God Is a God of restoration. He Is to be trusted,” he said.

Meanwhile, Otieno expressed his excitement to have made a return to the track after his ban ended. The Kenyan was suspended in August 2021 by the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) due to the presence of the prohibited substance Methasterone in his system hours before his 100m race at the delayed 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.

At the time, Otieno proved his case that he had no intentions to cheat but consumed contaminated supplements due to bad manufacturing practices, leading to a positive drug test result, which saw his ban reduced.

His focus is now focusing on making the cut to the national team for the Olympic Games in Paris, France where he seeks to join Commonwealth Games 100m champion Ferdinand Omanyala.

After his ban concluded mid-last year, Otieno returned to training and fans rallied behind him as he sought to return to the competitive athletics scene.
