Terisa Webb and Akani Simbine recently tied the knot in a star-studded wedding, sparking heartfelt reactions from Olympic legends.

South Africa’s sprint sensation Akani Simbine continues to bask in the joy of his recent wedding to internet personality Terisa Webb.

The couple celebrated their white-themed wedding, which was attended by a number of notable figures from the world of athletics, including the celebrated Caster Semenya and her wife, Violet Raseboya.

The special day was a star-studded affair, with Olympic champions and current sprinting greats taking to social media to offer their well-wishes.

One of the first reactions came from former Olympic champion Justin Gatlin, who simply captured the excitement of the occasion with his two-word tribute: "EPIC 🔥❤️🔥!!!! Congratulations 🍾🎊🎉."

Gatlin shared his enthusiasm with his followers conveying his heartfelt congratulations to Simbine and his new wife.

Qatari hurdler and Olympian Abderrahman Samba also joined in, offering a heartfelt message to his fellow athlete.

He wrote, "Congratulations brother, I wish you a happy life 🙌🏽🎊," showing his support and extending his best wishes to the couple on their joyous occasion.

American sprinter and 2024 Olympic champion Noah Lyles, who claimed gold in the men’s 100m event in Paris, dropped a more concise but still meaningful message: "Congratulations," sending his warm regards in a single word that resonated with fans and followers alike.

Francois Otieno Prinsloo, a South African discus thrower who also participated in the Paris Olympics, took to social media to offer a playful and humorous take on the wedding.

He commented, "Bro really said: 'Silver isn’t enough, I need a diamond' 💯🤍 Congrats to the gorgeous couple!"

His message added a lighthearted touch to the celebrations, referencing Simbine’s hard-earned silver medal at the Paris Olympics and humorously alluding to the "diamond" of his wedding ring.

Another former Olympic champion, Angelo Taylor, who clinched gold in the 400m hurdles at both the Sydney and Beijing Olympics, sent his congratulations with a simple yet heartfelt message: "Congrats bro!"

Akani Simbine’s wedding comes after a series of remarkable achievements and personal growth.

His performance at the Paris Olympics was particularly memorable.

While he missed the podium in the 100m finals by a mere fraction, Simbine’s resilience shone through when he helped secure South Africa’s historic silver medal in the men’s 4x100m relay.

In a joint effort to give back to the community, Simbine and his wife Terisa recently launched the Akani Simbine Foundation.

The organization aims to provide children with opportunities in sports, education and to support those who have faced abuse and neglect.

Through this foundation, Simbine continues to use his platform to make a difference and inspire the next generation.
