The Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association has made a huge milestone that comes as great news to top athletes like Shericka Jackson and Kishane Thompson among others.
Jamaica has already started gearing up for next season as the Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association (JAAA) has renewed its partnership with Puma, good news for Shericka Jackson, Kishane Thompson and other athletes.
The deal with Puma offers approximately $6 million annually to support the operations of the federation, meaning the athletes will also benefit a great deal. The JAAA has yet to announce any details regarding the new deal.
This season, the Jamaican athletes have struggled to make an impact in their forte, sprints, but with such a huge boost, the athletes will be back to take what rightfully belongs to them. Several injuries including Shericka Jackson and Elaine Thompson-Herah had to withdraw from the Paris Olympics.

Junelle Bromfield has credited her late mother for inspiring her athletics journey and noted that she was the only person who would attend her track meets faithfully.
After signing the deal, JAAA president Garth Gayle thanked the leading shoe brand for always supporting the federation and athletes every step of the way for years.
“Puma has been an invaluable partner, supporting grassroots initiatives, high school programs, and major national events like the Boys and Girls Championships and the Gibson Relays,” Gayle said as per Sports Max.
“Their commitment far exceeds that of their competitors, ensuring we can continue to deliver excellence in athletics.”
During the AGM, the president insisted that going forward, the federation will be looking to work with athletes more by creating sub-committees to cater for their needs. He also called on the Jamaica Olympic Association (JOA) to work with the federation to make things work seamlessly.
"We share the concern of those who ask for more participation by our athletes and are addressing this with structured opportunities for involvement," Gayle said.
"The ‘Jamaica’ in the names of both associations reminds us that we serve under one flag with the development and opportunities for our athletes and sportspersons our shared commitment."

He also urged sponsors to come through for the federation to continue growing the track and field legacy in Jamaica as he expressed optimism about the projects set aside, including the recent coaching development where all coaches need to have licences. There will also be expanded courses for coaches.
