Godson Brume gets another SEC recognition, winning back-to-back Men's Runner of the Week award.
For the second consecutive week, Godson Brume has won the SEC Runner of the Week honour. The award is given to the best male runner in the South Eastern Conference in the outgoing week, which serves as motivation for the winning athlete.
Brume secured the award based on his brilliant performance at the LSU Invitational last weekend, where he won the 100m in a windy fast time of 10.01s (3.3) against a strong field having teammate Fleming Da'Marcus Fleming (10.10s) and teenage sensation Erriyon Knighton (10.13s).
He also anchored his school's 4x100m relay team to a Season's Best of 38.26s, lowering the time from 38.36s in the previous week. This time is No.2 in LSU history and currently an NCAA-leading time.
Two weeks ago, the Louisiana State University sophomore won his first National Athlete of the Week honour after a stunning 9.97s (2.3) to defeat world silver medallist Marvin Bracy and other renowned Olympians.
