Gabby Thomas has been crowned the queen of athletics at the end of Paris 2024 Olympics after carting home with three gold medals - the only athlete to walk away with such a feat.
The American speedster won her third gold medal in the women's 4x400m, with a brilliant third leg run as the quartet of Shamier Little, Sydney McLaughlin-Levroe, and Alexis Holmes blazed to an Olympic and Area Record of 3:15.27.
In an outstanding dominant display by the USA squad, Little set things rolling with a valiant run of 49.48s as she handed the baton to McLaughlin-Levrone, who was in a league of her own and clocked the fastest 4x400m split time since 1982 of 47.70s.
With Thomas getting the baton in an uncatchable lead, she did enough in a blistering run of 49.30s as Holmes brought it home with a split time of 48.78s to give the quartet the second-fastest time in history.

The race was so fast that silver medallists, the Netherlands ran a brilliant National Record (NR) of 3:19.50, and Great Britain came in third also in an NR of 3:19.72.
Thomas being part of the USA squad, was her third gold medal in Paris. Her previous medals came in the 4x100m relays, where she played a vital role in the squad of Melissa Jefferson, Tee Tee Terry, and Sha'Carri Richardson blazing to the Olympic title in 41.78s.

Finally in her individual event, the 200m, Thomas claimed the gold medal convincingly in 21.84s, ahead of Julien Alfred in 22.08s, while Brittany Brown won bronze in 22.20s.

With her hat-trick of gold medals, Thomas is the undisputed queen of athletics in Paris and she can only build on this success.
