After going for months sponsor less, Fred Kerley seems to have found a new home as he was spotted wearing a different kit at the Lausanne Diamond League.
Fred Kerley has seemingly found a new home months after parting ways with Asics after the New York City Grand Prix.
The Olympic Games 100m bronze medallist signed with Asics in February 2023 when his contract with Nike expired at the end of 2022. After months without an official sponsor, Kerley seems to be back on the grind.
At the Diamond League Meeting in Lausanne, Kerley was seen wearing the official Nike jersey and he seems to have resigned with the giant sportswear brand.

The list of the top 100m runners includes some of the most decorated sprinters including Usain Bolt, Ferdinand Omanyala and Fred Kerley but Noah Lyles does not make the list.

“100m Olympic bronze medalist @fkerley99 has re-signed with Nike. I believe this happened during the Paris Olympics. Now clearly official with him in the pro kit,” American sports journalist and founder of Citius Magazine Chris Chavez shared.
Former Olympic silver medallist Fitzroy Dunkley also speculated the same, sharing on his X handle: “Olympic medalist Fred Kerley has now resigned with Nike after ending his ASICS partnership this year. He has run season bests of 9.81 and 19.86 in the 100m and 200m respectively in 2024.”
Meanwhile, before parting ways with Asics, Kerley headlined the men’s 100m final at the NYC Grand Prix. However, he drew attention in the warmup area as he was spotted wearing PUMA spikes.
Before the race, Kerley appeared to slip out of the blocks twice but he was not disqualified. However, he opted not to race.
When asked about his decision to switch up spikes, Kerley said: “I ain’t switch it up. I left my bag at the airport.”
Shortly later, a spokesperson for Asics issued a statement saying: “ASICS and Fred Kerley have mutually parted ways and he is no longer an ASICS-sponsored athlete. We wish him the best in his career.”
