The former world champion will be working alongside the Ghanaian sprinter who has relocated to the US to finetune his craft.
Ghanaian sprinter Benjamin Azamati will team up with American Fred Kerley after relocating to the US to work with renown coach John Bolton.
Azamati became the first Ghanaian sprinter to reach the Olympics semi-finals since 2004 at the Paris 2024 Games but his journey ended at that stage after finishing ninth in his heat in a time of 10.17 seconds.
It was a slower time than what he had recorded in the first round, when he clocked 10.08 seconds, and is still searching for his first sub-10 performance since managing 9.90 in 2022.

The former world champion has not hidden his joy after winning a bronze medal at the Paris 2024 Games following a disappointing performance at the 2023 World Championships.
Azamati will be relocating to California where Compton native Bolton was recently named assistant coach at the University of Southern California track and field program.
In California, Azamati will not just work with a top coach but also have access top-tier training facilities while training alongside some of the world’s finest sprinters such as Kerley.
Kerley was thrilled with the news of the Ghanaian arrival, posting “Let go,” on X.
The American won a bronze medal at the Paris Olympics and is also silver medallist at the Games, won in 200m at the 2020 Tokyo edition.
Kerley was also the 100m world champion in 2022 and his presence will be of great help for Azamati who is looking to finetune his sprints career.
