Athlos founder Alexis Ohanian has revealed that the Athlos race tracks could have resembled Formula 1 tracks.

The inaugural event for Athlos, was held on September 26 at the iconic Icahn Stadium, featuring only women athletes.

The women-only track and field meet was founded by Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian.

The American internet entrepreneur and investor has since revealed intriguing details of what the Athlos race track could have been.

"I admitted the I was asking if we could not have an oval track at first. Because I came at this thinking of Formula 1 Miami. That's one of my models where people actually show up there from so many sectors and they have such a great time," said Ohanian via the Ready Set Go podcast.

The meet, which featured six events - 100m hurdles, 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m and 1500m races, was stacked with talent, as 30 of the best athletes from all over the world took part in their respective disciplines.

From the conceptualization the event was not your contemporary track and fieled event, breaking from traditional athletics event customs.

The New York women-only event showcased a stage with music playing between races, deviating from the typical format seen at events like the Olympics.

Additionally, Athlos included commentary between each event, allowing the stadium audience to stay informed through the Public Address System.

The inaugural event broke from the the traditional model that is awarded to the podium athletes and instead went with Tiffany crowns.
