The former long jumper has delved into the social and romantic escapades that take place in Olympic Villages once the sporting events conclude.

A former Olympian has shed light on the sexual escapades that reportedly run rampant among athletes during the Olympic Games.

This rare insight comes from German ex-long jumper Susen Tiedtke who competed in two Olympics and has firsthand experience of the atmosphere in the Olympic Village.

The Olympic Games brings together the world's elite athletes in a high-pressure environment for about two weeks.

It is a time when physical and mental stress peaks followed by intense relief after the events conclude.

According to Tiedtke, this cycle significantly contributes to the sexual activities among athletes.

"The athletes are at their physical peak at the Olympics. When the competition is over, they want to release their energy," she to BILD as per Sport Bible.

Tiedtke describes a festive almost hedonistic atmosphere in the Olympic Village post-competition with continuous parties and alcohol fueling the celebratory mood.

"When the competition is over, they want to live out their energy, there is one party after the other, then alcohol comes into play. It happens that you have sex and there are enough people who also strive for that," she said.

Despite the International Olympic Committee's attempts to discourage sexual relations between athletes, including the introduction of specially designed anti-sex beds, such initiatives have been met with skepticism and ridicule among the athletes.

The issue of sex in the Olympic Village has been acknowledged by the committee since at least the 1988 Seoul Olympics, with large quantities of condoms distributed to athletes to promote safe sex and raise awareness about sexually transmitted diseases.

The atmosphere can also affect those not participating in the activities.

Tiedtke added that the ongoing activity could be so rampant that "sometimes you could hardly sleep" due to noises from neighboring rooms.

The culture within the village often sees roommates coordinating to provide privacy for those engaging in sexual activities.
