Fraser-Pryce has been battling a knee injury which has prevented her from competing and she is yet to run any 100m race so far this season.

Multiple world champion Shelly-Anne Fraser-Pryce will be heading to the World Athletics Continental Tour Silver Madrid on Saturday, July 22 as she prepares for the World Championships in Budapest, Hungary.

Fraser-Pryce has been battling a niggly knee injury which has prevented her from competing and she is yet to run any 100m race so far this season. She intends to run her first 100m race when she heads to Vallehermoso.

The two-time Olympic champion intended to open her season at the Botswana Golden Grand Prix but had to pull out last minute due to personal issues. She then jetted into Kenya for the Kip Keino Classic but unfortunately had to also pull out because of an injury.

The 36-year-old has also not competed in any Diamond League Meetings since the series started. She opened her season with a 200m race at the Jamaican Championships where she finished second behind World 200m champion Shericka Jackson.

In her career, Fraser-Pryce has achieved many things including having the third-best mark in history in the 100 meters, 10.60. She also has nine of the top 20 records of all time, something that most athletes are yet to achieve.

She has broken the 10.80 barrier 31 times, the one that separates contenders from real favourites in the World Championships and Olympic Games. In Madrid, the Jamaican threatens to do it for the 79th time.
