Ferdinand Omanyala has set the record straight after he was spotted with the Ksh 24 million a stunning new 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado Adventure Plus J250.
Africa’s fastest man revealed that he has not purchased the car but as Toyota’s brand ambassador, it is his duty to market their vehicles and he was just in his line of duty when the news broke.
Ferdinand Omanyala revealed that he had been marketing the Toyota Hilux since he inked a deal with Toyota and they were thinking about moving to the Prado but that will be for CFAO Motors to decide.
“I was wondering whether I don’t deserve to drive after I went viral the other day. It’s not that I went and paid for the car, I’m a brand ambassador for Toyota and we’ve been pushing the Hilux and we’ve pushed it for one and a half years now so we want to change and see if we can get into the Prado line,” Ferdinand Omanyala explained.
“However, that’s a decision that has to be made by the CFAO mobility but the content spread widely and I’m grateful for anyone who shared and the car is Ksh 24 million by the way. So, if you want that, you can get it and it’s a very good car.”
Omanyala's journey with the vehicle manufacturer started in December 2023 after he signed a partnership to promote the Toyota Hilux Double Cab pickup. Working with the brand resonates with Omanyala’s performance on the track since the brand values of strength, durability, and precision.
He began his journey to the top after shattering the African record at the Kip Keino Classic and that’s when he started attracting brand endorsements. He has worked with other brands including Adidas and Visa.
Ferdinand Omanyala is also an ambassador for the Aids Healthcare Foundation’s Vaccinate Our World (VOW) campaign. His partnerships off the track have certainly played a huge role in his success as a Kenyan sprinter.
He continues to inspire the next generation to go for what is thought to be impossible as he has broken barriers and competed on stages that people believed he could not set foot on. He finished the season as the second-fastest man with his personal best of 9.79 seconds at the Kenyan Olympic trials.
