Africa’s fastest man Ferdinand Omanyala is bubbling with enthusiasm ahead of the Prefontaine Classic, which will be his last race of the season.

Omanyala’s race will be at 11:07 p.m. East African time and he is definitely looking to end his season on a high as he faces familiar rivals.

He will be competing against double World champion Noah Lyles, World 100m silver medallist Letsile Tebogo, and Christian Coleman among other great athletes.

To show his readiness for the do-or-die assignment, he posted on his Twitter page saying: “Thrown in all my cards. Only one left. Diamond League finals.”

The 27-year-old has had a busy season this year since he has competed in more than 10 races so far, including the indoor races.

He opened his season with impressive performances in the indoor tour to mainly work on getting out of the blocks.

He then started off his outdoor campaign at the Athletics Kenyan second meet where he pulled crowds at the Nyayo National Stadium with his impressive performance.

The Commonwealth Games champion has also been to Diamond League Meetings, his first being the Meeting in Rabat, Morocco where he finished third. He then proceeded to the Meetings in Florence, Italy, and Paris, France where he finished second.

His first win at a Diamond League Meeting was at the Meeting in Monaco. After that, he went to the World Championships and was off to a good start with the Heats before faltering in the semi-final but made it to the final by a whisker. In the final, Omanyala finished a disappointing seventh.

After the Budapest showpiece, he finished second in two races, at the Gala dei Castelli and 59. Palio Citta' della Quercia. He then won the 100m at the Memorial Borisa Hanžekovića and will be hoping to extend his hot streak to Eugene, USA for the Prefontaine Classic.
