Ferdinand Omanyala penciled for another memorable duel with Kishane Thompson, Letsile Tebogo

Ferdinand Omanyala is not resting on his laurels as he gears u for a tough challenge against Kishane Thompson, Letsile Tebogo, Fred Kerley and other strong contenders in the men's 100m in Rome.

Kishane Thompson has been confirmed for the men’s 100m at the Diamond League Meeting in Rome after scratching from the meeting in Silesia.

The Olympic 100m silver medallist recorded a did not start in the men’s 100m race in Silesia in the race won by Fred Kerley. He is now ready for the challenge as he will be taking to the track on Friday, August 30.

However, the race will not be a walk in the pack as he will take on strong opponents, coming from explosive times at the Diamond League Meeting in Silesia. Africa’s fastest man, Ferdinand Omanyala, fresh from a second-place finish in Silesia, will be out to challenge Thompson.

Omanyala narrowly missed the win and lost to Kerley and the Kenyan sprinting sensation looks to impress by going one step better. Kerley, the Olympic 100m bronze medallist will also be in the mix, looking to continue his winning streak.

Olympic 200m champion Letsile Tebogo will race the shorter distance after oozing class in the 200m races at the Diamond League Meetings in Lausanne and Silesia. He will be out to right his wrongs in the 100m since he has yet to compete after the disappointing outing at the Olympic Games where he faded to sixth-place in the final.

Former Olympic champion Marcell Jacobs finished fourth in the men’s 100m at the Diamond League Meeting in Silesia and will be out to improve on that racing in front of a sold-out home stadium. Christian Coleman will be out to continue his winning ways in the Diamond League circuit following the disappointing Paris Olympic Games where Team USA’s men’s 4x100m relay team was disqualified.

Another Jamaican, Ackeem Blake, who finished third in Silesia will be looking to improve on that performance in Rome. After his disqualification from the men’s 100m at the Paris Olympic Games due to a false start, Great Britain’s Jeremiah Azu returns with the hope of a great bounce back. Japan’s Hakim Sani Brown has also entered the race.
