His recent outing was the Diamond League Meeting in Paris, France, where he finished second behind Noah Lyles.
“The progress has been good, the consistency has been there, so I just want to build towards the World Championships. We just need to maintain this and add more work to it. The good thing is that I’m building up for the World Championships,” he told Nation.
Speaking about his second-place finish in Paris, he revealed that at first, he actually thought he had won since it was a tight race. Lyles clocked 9.97 and Omanyala clocked 9.98.

“The race was good…I thought I won though. However, the weather was great, the environment was nice, the fans were cheering us and the NOC-K president (Paul Tergat) was also there...he gave me the motivation,” he said.
He added that his focus now shifts to the National Trails scheduled for Thursday 22 to Saturday 24 June, and then he will take a break and resume training in July.
