Amos Serem has explained a quality he wants to embrace from Noah Lyles as he looks to dominate the Diamond League Meeting final in Brussels.
Amos Serem has fired warning shots at his opponents following his second-place finish at the Diamond League Meeting in Silesia.
Serem clocked 8:04.29 to finish second behind two-time Olympic champion Soufiane El Bakkali who won the race seconds ahead of the Kenyan. Ethiopia’s Samwel Firewu completed the podium in style, clocking a stunning personal best time of 8:04.34.
Serem failed to impress at the Olympic Games hence his personal comeback. He clocked 8:19.74 to finish 14th in the hotly contested race won by the Moroccan steeplechaser. Kenneth Rooks and Abraham Kibiwott finished second and third in respective times of 8:06.41 and 8:06.47.

“My next plan is to prepare for the Diamond League final and I am going back home in Kenya and will get ready for the last 100m because with these guys, you need to be ready. Did you see my body? It is good for the sprints and now I am going to build on it. I will be like Noah Lyles in the last 100m,” Serem said.
Following his second-place finish at the Diamond League Meeting in Silesia, Serem noted that he planned to finish in the podium place and he achieved his target.
The former world under-20 champion added that competing against Bakkali was a motivation booster and he was glad to have almost won the race.

Abraham Kibiwot has made a bold promise to Kenyan fans ahead of the 2025 World Championships in Tokyo, Japan.
“I wanted to challenge the field and it worked. Everything was going well today and I felt good. I started to go to the front and wanted to make sure I finished in the top position. Running with El Bakkali - he is the Olympic champion, he is always a champion,” Serem said.
“So when I see El Bakkali, I start to fear. But I almost managed to win today. Competing in Poland was very nice, I see many people came to the stadium to support us and I am glad for this race. Poland is the best place to run,” he added.
