The two-time World champion has been in impeccable form since the season started. She opened her track season at the Diamond League Meeting in Doha, Qatar where she set a world-leading time of 3:58.57.
Kipyegon then proceeded to Florence, Italy where she set a world record time of 3:49.11 in the 1500m before setting the 5000m record in the same week in Paris, France. As she heads to the World Championships in Budapest, Hungary, fireworks are definitely expected.
Meanwhile, Commonwealth Games champion Wycliffe Kinyamal has also stormed to a world-leading time at the Diamond League Meeting in Monaco.

Kinyamal, who was yet to secure a win in the Diamond League so far this year, outclassed a strong field to clinch the 800m title by clocking 1:43.22. Arch-rival Slimane Moula of Algeria finished second in 1:43.40 as Canada’s Marco Arop sealed the podium in 1:43.51.
Compatriot Emmanuel Wanyonyi fizzled out to finish eighth after clocking 1:44.35. Emmanuel Korir had also entered the race but did not compete due to a niggling foot injury that has slowed him this season.
