Emmaculate Anyango has revealed that being the sole breadwinner in her family is one of her driving forces to do well in the world of athletics.
Trailblazing athlete Emmaculate Anyango has opened up on how athletics has been a savior in her career where she has been able to take care of her entire family.
Speaking to World Athletics, the youngster noted that she is the breadwinner to her whole family including her mother and five of her siblings.
However, she noted that when her family looks up to her, she gets the motivation to go for training and work hard so as not to let them down.

Fred Kerley has expressed admiration for Africa's fastest man following the powerful quote he shared on his social media on Thursday.
“I am now like a father and a mother to my entire family in Litein, Kericho. That includes my mother and five siblings (a brother and four sisters)," she said.
“I am a father to all of them, and I am happy to be like that to them. They are part of what motivates me to work hard in my training."

Just like every other athlete, Anyango also wants to make the cut to the Olympic Games in Paris, France where she intends to win a gold medal.
But first, the Sirikwa Classic Cross-Country champion wants to start her campaign with the World Cross-Country Championships in Belgrade, Serbia before she thinks about Paris.
She will team up with defending champion Beatrice Chebet and world 10km record holder Agnes Ngetich.
“Regarding my plans this year, I am really hoping I can get a medal at the World Cross-Country Championships and another medal at the Paris Olympics. My year so far has started very well," she added.

“Agnes (Ngetich) has been my favourite competitor. I wish she were running with me at the Sirikwa Classic Cross Country. She has been making me push my limits while running.
“My mind is on the 10,000m, although I believe I am also able to do well in the 5000m event. I only pray for good health, and I believe I will be able to achieve anything I set my mind to this year,” she added.
