Double world champion Faith Kipyegon will be heading to the Diamond League Meeting in Monaco on July 21, where she will be competing in the mile.
She takes on the distance for the first time since 2016 when she won during the Diamond League Meeting in Oslo, Norway and she’ll be hoping to reap the same fortunes when she heads to the microstate on the French Riviera.

The Monaco meet will be her last Diamond League Meeting before she heads to the World Championships in Budapest, Hungary where she intends to win her third successive 1500m title and hopefully also win the 5000m.
“Monaco will be my last meet before the World Championships…my focus now is on the one mile because that’s what I’m going to compete in. I hope for the best…I have seen the great things in my way and I hope to achieve more going forward,” Kipyegon said.
The 29-year-old has had a great outdoor season so far that has seen her set two world records in a span of one week. She opened her track season at the Diamond League Meeting in Doha, Qatar where she won the 1500m.
The two-time World Champion then proceeded to the Meeting in Florence, Italy where she set a new 1500m world record after clocking 3:49.11 to cross the finish line.
