Olympic champion Faith Kipyegon has picked up traits throughout her illustrious career that transcends the track into her personal life and motherhood journey.
"My husband has been so supportive," Kipyegon said, reflecting on their partnership in an episode of the Engage Talk.
"He's been supporting me all through since we met. He was an Olympian as well, you know, after the 2012 Olympic Games in London. He ran with Rudisha and came in third. That’s actually where we met," she added with a warm smile.
Kipyegon recalled how their paths crossed at a time when she was balancing the demands of school and her budding athletics career.
"I was still in school at the time. We were trying to balance classes and everything else. That’s why I told you guys that if I wasn’t disciplined from a young age until now, it would have been impossible to manage," she shared.
Kipyegon and Kitum’s partnership extends beyond athletics. The couple, who are parents to a daughter named Alyn, born in June 2018, have built a foundation of mutual support and understanding that has fueled Kipyegon’s dominance in middle-distance running.
"But really, my husband has been incredibly, incredibly supportive," Kipyegon emphasized, underlining the depth of their connection.
