The iconic 29-year-old athlete has sent a motivational message to upcoming athletes while stressing Eliud Kipchoge’s sentiments.

Faith Kipyegon has sent a striking message to upcoming athletes who would wish to replicate and even better her well-documented success one day after experiencing an iconic season.

Kipyegon delivered double gold (1500m and 5000m) at the World Championships in Budapest, Hungary.

She also set three world records this year, the 1500m, 5000m, and mile. However, the 5000m world record was shattered by Ethiopia’s Gudaf Tsegay at the Prefontaine Classic.

Speaking on Citizen TV, Kipyegon challenged upcoming athletes to work hard for what they would like to achieve, and also asked them to ‘stay patient’ for their opportunities.

“I would tell them to be themselves and work hard,” Kipyegon said. “They should not just dream of waking up from the bed one morning and running the next day,” she added.

“You have to work hard every morning and be patient. Your time to shine will come and you will enjoy the fruits.

“It’s all about being patient and keep going.”

Kipyegon is on a mission to inspire the girl child to become independent and to lead self-sustaining lives, and echoed Eliud Kipchoge’s words on ‘no human being limited’ to those that wish to be like her in future.

“I want to motivate girls. They need to know they can perform. They can wake up, walk and get something to put on the table. They need to push," she added.

“Eliud Kipchoge said ‘no human is limited’ so, (that is my mission).”

The mother-of-one has taken a two-month break from her busy schedule to refuel ahead of the grueling 2024 season which will culminate in the Olympics Games in Paris, France.

A lot more is there to be won which will still earn her much more as she trains her sights on winning three straight Olympic gold medals in 1,500m.

Kipyegon has also expressed her desire to go for the more lucrative marathons in the near future, meaning she is set for a bumper harvest if she stays injury free.
