Daniel Ebenyo has reacted to his second-place finish behind Uganda’s Stephen Kissa at the Tata Steel Kolkata World 25K, a World Athletics Gold Label road race that happened on Sunday.
Ebenyo was hoping to defend his title, controlling the pace throughout the race but his Ugandan opponent had calculated his tactics and outsmarted him a few meters to the finish line. The world 10,000m silver medallist was then forced to finish second in the race.
Stephen Kissa claimed the win in a time of 1:12:33 ahead of Ebenyo who finished four seconds later. Another Kenyan, Anthony Kipchirchir completed the podium in a time of 1:12:55.
