Eliud Kipchoge is not resting on his laurels as he continues impacting the sport with the launch of his new shoe, a special edition of the ZoomX AlphaFly 3 which will retail for about Ksh 38,000.

After his Paris Olympics heartbreak, former world marathon record holder Eliud Kipchoge will be releasing his colourway of the Nike ZoomX AlphaFly 3.

Kipchoge has been the face behind many Nike shoes and he has set world records donning the innovative shoes. One shoe that stands out is the high-tech and top-performing running shoe ever created for retail, the AlphaFly 3. The shoes were also won by the late Kelvin Kiptum as he broke the world record at the 2023 Chicago Marathon.

The shoes contain a ZoomX foam, a full-length carbon fiber plate, and forefoot Zoom Air. The shoes are clearly loved by many and every colourway that has hit retail has been met with an instant sell-out.

The two-time Olympic champion will now launch his own model of the AlphaFly 3. His version will be a light Vapor Green on the upper part with a red colour on the outsole.

As reported by Sneaker News, the enlarged ‘Swoosh stands out via black paintwork, while additional details include Kipchoge’s insignia on the ZoomX sole and additional messaging on the in-step and the insoles.’

The special edition of the ZoomX AlphaFly 3 shoe will retail at the end of this season with the expected price of about Ksh 37,000.

Meanwhile, following his exit from the Paris Olympics, the five-time Berlin marathon has maintained a low profile. Kipchoge went into the race with high hopes to defend his title but failed to impress, recording a ‘did not finish’.

He won the 2016 Rio Olympic Games before proceeding to defend his title at the delayed 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games. He opened his season with a 10th place finish at the Tokyo Marathon in the race won by Benson Kipruto.
