Amazing Thailand partners with Eliud Kipchoge and NN Running Team to establish Thailand as Asia’s premier running destination.
The Tourism Authority of Thailand, under its Amazing Thailand campaign, has unveiled an exciting new partnership with marathon legend Eliud Kipchoge and the NN Running Team.
The collaboration, announced at a press conference in Bangkok, seeks to position Thailand as the leading running destination in Asia, in line with Kipchoge’s global vision to inspire a “running world.”
This partnership will see both Kipchoge and his NN Running Team engage deeply with Thailand’s running community. The team, known for their dominance in global marathon races, will visit Thailand, where they will share expertise with local athletes and promote sustainable marathon training. Their aim is to foster a running culture in Thailand and connect with the fast-developing Asian running market.

Eliud Kipchoge, who will assume the role of ambassador for Amazing Thailand, is set to travel to the country between late November and early December. His visit will coincide with the Amazing Thailand Marathon Bangkok 2024 (ATMBKK2024), where Kipchoge will join the 10km mass run, alongside 33,000 runners, to motivate and encourage participants.
Kipchoge, widely regarded as one of the greatest marathoners of all time, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership. "I have travelled frequently to Asia, and I share in the big ambitions to grow running as a sport, to make people happier and healthier," said Kipchoge.
"There is tremendous potential in the Asian running world, and I am happy to start working with Amazing Thailand to promote running in the region. I have always said that I want to make this world a running world, because a running world is a happy, healthy, and peaceful world. This partnership contributes to my personal ambitions."

Eliud Kipchoge, two-time Olympic marathon champion, has stated he won't retire until he achieves one major gal despite his recent struggles, including a DNF at the Paris Olympics.
The collaboration between Amazing Thailand and the NN Running Team represents a major opportunity for Thailand to gain international recognition in the running community. Marleen Vink-Rennings, Marketing Director of the NN Running Team, noted:
“We are thankful for the partnership with Amazing Thailand and Thailand Tri-League. It gives us the opportunity to promote and support running in Thailand. We run most of our races in North America and Europe, but there is great potential in other regions of the world. Through this partnership, we hope to support Thai runners and show the world the potential of Thailand as a running destination.”
The Minister of Tourism and Sports, Mr. Sorawong Thienthong, echoed these sentiments: “This strategic partnership with Eliud Kipchoge and the NN Running Team is expected to elevate Thailand’s reputation, attracting international running enthusiasts to the Amazing Thailand Marathon in Bangkok.”

Race Director Mr. Kobkiat Sangwanich also expressed his gratitude, stating: “We deeply appreciate your recognition of the importance of a nation like Thailand. The entire Thai population eagerly anticipates welcoming their esteemed heroes during the Amazing Thailand Marathon Bangkok 2024 race week.”
Eliud Kipchoge's partnership with Thailand comes following a disappointing year of performances. Earlier in 2024, Kipchoge had to settle for seventh Tokyo Marathon.
A two-time Olympic champion, also competed at the Paris 2024 Olympics, where he sought an unprecedented third consecutive gold medal in the marathon. Though he fell short of that goal, failing to finish after developing hip issues, he is undoubtedly the greatest marathon runner to have ever existed.
