Jamaican sprinter Elaine Thompson-Herah shares beach day photos without her husband sparking curiosity and questions from fans.

Five-time Olympic gold medalist Elaine Thompson-Herah is embracing her time off the track with a series of thrilling local adventures.

The Jamaican sprint queen, who recently recovered from a season-ending injury, has been sharing glimpses of her downtime on social media, much to the delight of her fans.

The latest post shows Thompson-Herah unwinding at a scenic river, dressed in vibrant Jamaican colors, radiating joy and relaxation.

Thompson-Herah, who remains the fastest woman alive in the 100m sprint as of September 2024, has been actively focusing on wellness and recovery since suffering a major Achilles tendon injury in June.

Despite her time away from competition, the 32-year-old sprinter has kept her fans engaged by posting her fun-filled escapades, which have included activities like horseback riding, ATV riding, rock climbing, and now, a serene day at the river.

In her most recent Instagram post, the track star shared a series of photos of herself soaking in the natural beauty of her surroundings, without adding any caption beyond two simple icons.

This silence left her fans both curious and intrigued.

One fan commented, “Where’s the champ’s words? We need to hear how she’s feeling,” while others speculated about her personal life, given the notable absence of her husband, Derron Herah, in the photos.

Thompson-Herah and Derron, a former athlete turned coach, tied the knot on November 2, 2019, in a stunning ceremony at Old Fort Bay in St. Ann, Jamaica.

Since then, Derron had taken on the role of coaching his wife after she parted ways with MVP Track Club and coach Stephen Francis in October 2021.

Their coach-athlete partnership was a major talking point, especially as Thompson-Herah achieved remarkable success under his guidance, including her record-breaking performances at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, where she won back-to-back 100m and 200m titles.

However, fans were quick to notice that Derron has been absent from many of Thompson-Herah's recent social media updates.

His absence from her latest beach day post has only fueled speculation about the status of their relationship.

One fan wrote, “No hubby in sight? Hope all is well,” while others simply wished her a speedy recovery as she continues to prioritize her health.

Thompson-Herah’s Achilles tendon injury, which she sustained at the New York Grand Prix in June, derailed her hopes of competing in the Paris 2024 Olympics.

In that race, she clocked an uncharacteristic 11.48 seconds, later revealing that she felt the tendon tear as she approached the finish line. Reflecting on that moment, she said,“I am hurt and devastated to be missing the Olympics this year, but at the end of the day it’s sports and my health comes first."

Despite her best efforts to recover in time for Jamaica's National Championships, which served as trials for the Olympics, her body did not cooperate.

She ultimately had to withdraw from both the 100m and 200m events, marking a disappointing end to her season.

In recent years, Thompson-Herah also parted ways with her husband as her coach, marking her third coaching change since leaving MVP Track Club.

She briefly worked with veteran coach Reynaldo Walcott at Elite Performance Track Club before deciding to move on.

While the sprint star has remained tight-lipped about her next coaching decision she appears to be in high spirits as she enjoys her downtime.
