The fastest woman alive, Elaine Thompson-Herah has exuded confidence in bagging a three-peat sprint double at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

Jamaican Elaine Thompson-Herah will be competing for a historic third-straight sprint double when she lines up on the track at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.

Thompson-Herah is undoubtedly one of the greatest sprinters in the world and is the fastest woman alive over the 100m and the third fastest over the 200m.

The five-time Olympic champion is also the first-ever female sprinter and the second sprinter after Usain Bolt to win the “sprint double” at consecutive Olympic Games, capturing 100m and 200m gold at the Rio Olympics in 2016 and defending both titles at the Tokyo Olympics in 2020.

“The feeling is surreal, I must say honestly. Most times, some kids would say, ‘Okay, you are an Olympic champion, a two-time Olympic champion’, and so for me to know that I am an Olympic champion and going for my third one, I think it is a wonderful feeling to know that,” Thompson-Herah said as per the Jamaica Observer.

She added that it is always a great image to be considered as an Olympic champion and in the future, she would always be glad to tell her grandchildren or kids that she won gold medals in the most lucrative sport.

Thompson-Herah admitted that it will take a lot of hard work and dedication if she seeks to go and achieve her three-peat sprint double ambition.

“Training has been good thus far, as everything is on track. My main goal is to stay focused and healthy, and there is always tunnel vision. No pressure. Just continue to be me and just get in the races and qualify, of course, for the Olympics.

“It would mean a lot to me, honestly, to have a three-peat. I would be the first woman to do that, and I would again create history. So my main goal is to just continue to stay focused and to focus on the bigger prize,” Thompson-Herah said.
