Thompson opened her Diamond League campaign in Zurich where she finished third behind Sha’Carri Richardson and compatriot Natasha Morrison.
She crossed the line ahead of compatriot Natasha Morrison who had beaten her during the Diamond League Meeting in Zurich. Morrison crossed the line in 10.95 as Great Britain’s sprinting ace Dina Asher-Smith completed the podium after clocking 10.97.
This marks Thompson’s second sub-11 performance after she clocked 10.92 to win the women’s 100m at the Gala dei Castelli in Switzerland.
Over the 100m, the Jamaican has only competed in five races since the season started and she might be bidding for a slot in the Diamond League Meeting Final in Eugene, USA.
She opened her season with a win at the JAAA All Comers Meet in June and proceeded to the Jamaican Championships where her efforts proved futile.

She then went for the Diamond League Meeting in Zurich where she finished third behind USA’s Sha’Carri Richardson and her compatriot Morrison. She clocked 11.00 to clock the finish line in her first Diamond League Meeting of the season.
Meanwhile, Norway's Jakob Ingebrgtsen healed his 1500m heartbreak from the World Championships by breaking the 2000m World record in Brussels.

Kipsang and Ingebrigtsen last clashed at the World Championships in Budapest, Hungary in the men’s 1500m.
Ingebgritsen clocked 4:43.13 to cross the finish line ahead of Reynold Cheruiyot who clocked a national record time of 4:48.14. Australia's Stewart McSweyn completed the podium after clocking 4:48.77.
Abel Kipsang was also in the race and he managed to finish seventh in a Season Best time of 4:50.68.
