Africa's fastest man has lined up key events this month as he seeks to complete his roller-coaster 2023 campaign in style
Jebitok was in action in the women’s 1,500m race but was unfortunately knocked out in the semi-final. The 21-year-old goes to the streets of Berlin with the hope of having a good run despite facing tough opposition.
On her part, 25-year-old Gidey, the 10,000m world record older will also be hoping to extend her hot streak in the German capital.
She is already one of the best runners of all time having won a silver medal in the 10,000m at the World Championships in Budapest two weeks ago.
“I am happy to end my track season at the ISTAF in Berlin,” said Letesenbet Gidey as per ISTAF. She has optimal conditions for a fast race in the Olympic Stadium because of the presence of the “wavelights” around the blue track.
As reported by ISTAF, the coloured LED lights act as additional “visual pacemakers” throughout the race.
