On Thursday, November 21 the University of Eldoret conferred upon her an Honorary Doctorate in Education during its 13th graduation ceremony.
The honor recognizes Kipyegon’s remarkable contributions to athletics and her inspiring journey as a global sporting icon.

Eliud Kipchoge and Faith Kipyegon are set to headline the Great Chepsaita Cross-Country Run 2024 in Uasin Gishu.
Taking to Instagram to celebrate, Kipyegon expressed her gratitude for one of the highest form of honors that was bestowed on her.
"Dr. Faith Kipyegon. I am greatly honored to receive an honorary Doctorate degree in Education from The University of Eldoret," she wrote.
The recognition comes in the wake of a historic 2024 season where Kipyegon clinched her third Olympic gold medal in the 1,500m race, a feat that cemented her status as one of the greatest middle-distance runners in history.
Kipyegon’s influence beyond athletics was further acknowledged in September 2024 when she received the Golden Plate from the Academy of Achievers in the United States, a prestigious recognition for her extraordinary Olympic successes.
In addition, Kipyegon shone at the inaugural Athlos New York City meet and was among the nominees for the 2024 World Athlete of the Year Award.
