The 24-year-old etched her name into history by becoming the first Kenyan woman to win gold in both the 5,000m and 10,000m races at the same Olympics.
Chebet’s 2024 performances were nothing short of extraordinary. She clocked the third-fastest time ever in the 5,000m and became the first woman in history to break the 29-minute barrier in the 10,000m.
These feats made her the world record holder in the latter event, further cementing her status as one of the greatest distance runners of all time.
