The 2025 Diamond League season promises thrilling global competition offering Ksh 1.2 billion in prize money across 14 events.

After another electrifying season of world-class performances the Wanda Diamond League has officially released the schedule for its 2025 campaign spanning four continents and 13 countries.

As the premier one-day meeting series in athletics the Diamond League promises another thrilling year for athletes and fans alike culminating in the two-day final in Zurich on August 27th and 28th.

The Road to the Final kicks off in Xiamen, China, on April 26th, marking the first of 14 highly anticipated stops.

Athletes will compete in 32 disciplines throughout the season, each vying for a chance to qualify for the final showdown in Zurich.

In a significant change, the series will open with back-to-back meetings in China, with Xiamen followed by Shanghai/Suzhou on May 3rd.

From there, the competition moves across the Middle East, Africa, Europe, and North America, giving fans in every corner of the globe the chance to witness elite athletes in action.

The stakes are higher than ever in 2025, with a record prize pool of $9.24 million (Ksh 1.2billion) up for grabs, ensuring the athletes leave everything on the track.

After the early Chinese legs, the series heads to Doha, Qatar, on May 16th. Known for its blistering heat and fast track, the Doha meeting is one of the more challenging stops.

Rome’s historic setting on June 6th will be a highlight, followed by quick stops in Oslo, Stockholm, and Paris, before heading to the United States for the famed Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon, on July 5th.

From Eugene, the tour heads to Monaco, one of the most glamorous stops on the circuit, on July 11th, and then to London on July 19th. These meetings often see world-record attempts and serve as key tests before the final legs of the season.

The final stretch begins in Silesia, Poland, on August 16th, with athletes giving their all to secure points and positions in the Diamond League Final. Lausanne, Switzerland, follows on August 20th, and Brussels, Belgium, on August 22nd, marking the last chance for qualification.

Finally, the 2025 Wanda Diamond League season will culminate with the return of the grand finale in Zurich.

Over two days, athletes who have accumulated the most points throughout the season will compete for the prestigious Diamond Trophy.

Only 32 champions will emerge, solidifying their place as the best in the world outside the major global championships. For many, the series also serves as perfect preparation for the 2025 World Athletics Championships in Tokyo, set for September.

The 2025 Diamond League promises another unforgettable season with fans eagerly awaiting the return of the world’s biggest stars to the track.
