AFC Leopards chairman Dan Shikanda has revealed the club's transfer strategy ahead of the new FKFPL season.

AFC Leopards chairman Dan Shikanda has assured fans that the club will fully support coach Thomas Trucha in the transfer market as he tries to build a team to contest for the league title next season.

Trucha, who returned to the club for a second spell last October, managed to get his team towards finishing in the top five and a third place finish in the Mozzart Bet Cup.

However, he aims at being the manager that will finally end the club’s 26-year wait for the title, with the club’s last piece of silverware being the 2017 FKF Cup under Robert Matano.

On his report at the recent Annual General Meeting, Shikanda revealed the club’s transfer plans in order to achieve their objectives.

“As we turn our sights to the upcoming season kicking off in August, we’re working closely with the Head Coach Tomas Trucha and his team to ensure a strong start.

“We are committed to fulfilling the requests outlined by the coaching staff. This includes strategically filling key positions through reinforcements and potentially releasing some players where necessary.

Shikanda emphasized that these adjustments are crucial for strengthening the team and enhancing their competitiveness.

He assured fans that all announcements regarding transfers will be posted on the club's social media platforms and official website.

“Next season's success starts now. In a game of football, 80% of success is players you sign, as Frank Lampard said.

“ By prioritizing early preparation and collaborating effectively, we are confident in building a team that can compete effectively in the upcoming season. On the contrary, we understand that failing to plan is planning to fail.

“Failure to put our efforts together will imply less expectations in the coming seasons. This should not be the case as we are all looking forward to having a better start of the season unlike before,” Shikanda added.

With the transfer window open and preparations underway, AFC Leopards fans can look forward to a proactive approach in building a competitive squad for the new season.
