The Court of Arbitration has overturned the decision of the World Athletics Disciplinary Tribunal concerning Kenyan-born Kazakhstani Norah Jeruto.
Kenyan-born Kazakhstani Norah Jeruto has won her case against World Athletics (WA) after she was banned for "use of a prohibited substance or method" concerning her biological passport.
The Court of Arbitration for Sport (TAS) announced the dismissal of the appeal by World Athletics to ban Jeruto for four years.
As per the ruling, the athlete showed abnormal values in two blood tests in 2020 and 2021. With the results, the authorities concluded that it was an evidence for doping which resulted in her being suspended between April and November 2023. Due to that, she missed her title defense at the World Championships in Budapest.

Jeruto had been provisionally suspended for the use of a Prohibited Substance/Method (ABP).
The TAS appealed decision, concluding that Jeruto did not violate World Athletics' anti-doping rules ("ADR") in relation to alleged abnormalities in her Athlete Biological Passport ("ABP").
The TAS Panel held a hearing on June 17 and 18 and after the deliberation, the panel issued the operative part of its decision dismissing the appeal by World Athletics.

However, the TAS did not disclose the reasons and considerations for the decision and noted that it would be communicated to the parties in due course and made public unless the parties requested confidentiality.
This season, the athlete has only competed once, in Los Angeles on May 17 and clocked 9:22.45. Some of her achievements include winning a gold medal at the 2022 World Athletics Championships, a gold medal at the 2016 African Athletics Championships (representing Kenya) and the 2021 Diamond League final.
