Tokyo Olympics 200m medallist Christine Mboma has been cleared to compete again.
Namibia's track star Christine Mboma has been cleared by World Athletics to compete again in the 100m and 200m events, as confirmed by her coach Henk Botha.
This is positive news, following Mboma's temporary suspension by World Athletics earlier this year from competing due to high testosterone levels in her body.
“We are keen and excited to get back to the track. She will most probably run in April 2024. We will try and qualify as soon as possible for the Olympics. The main focus is to qualify Christine to compete in the Paris 2024 Olympics. This means that Christine will be able to run the 400-meter race next year,” said Botha.
Coach Botha, however, said that she would be on hormone therapy for her entire career to suppress her testosterone levels to compete with other athletes.

An interesting development in Kingston reports that Elaine Thompson-Herah will not be reuniting with Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce at Elite Performance Track Club.
Mboma, at age 18, won a silver medal in the 200m event at the Tokyo Olympic Games, thus became the first ever Namibian woman to win a women's Olympic medal. She will be aiming to have memorable comeback performances next year.
