While Richardson is the most famous of the pair, considering her charismatic personality and influence, Coleman is reserved and lets his speed do the talking on the track.

The speedster boasts of a career profile that ranks him as one of the greats in the sport, and brags as the only man to have beaten the legendary Usain Bolt twice before his retirement.

With a focus on his exceptional talent as one of the world's best sprinters in history, here are the 5 legendary moments of Christian Coleman's career.

5 - Record-breaking collegiate year in 2017

During his years at the University of Tennessee, Coleman broke several college records, making him highly rated as one of the greatest sprinters in NCAA history.

The hallmark of his college years was claiming the 60m and 200m titles at the 2017 NCAA Indoor Championships, thereby becoming only the third athlete to complete the double. His 60m winning time of 6.45s still stands as the Collegiate Record (CR), and his race-winning margin of .09s is the largest margin of victory in NCAA history and a championship record.

In the same year outdoors, Coleman did the 100m and 200m double at the NCAA Championships, joining former Tennessee sprinter Justin Gatlin as the only other person to sweep the 60m and 200m indoor titles and the 100m and 200m outdoor titles. His 100m collegiate best of 9.82s still stands as the NCAA record.

4 - Beating Usain Bolt in a World Championship semifinal race

After his remarkable college year in 2017, Coleman achieved a significant breakthrough on the international stage when he turned professional and signed with Nike. He qualified for the 2017 World Championships - his first international stage that marked his rise as a force in the elite league of the world's best sprinters.

In a highly anticipated semifinal race at the championship, Coleman clocked 9.97s to edge the legendary Usain Bolt by 0.01s - a feat last achieved by Justin Gatlin in 2013. Not resting on his oars, he proved his victory was no fluke by defeating the Jamaican again in the final in 9.94s to win silver behind Gatlin, while Bolt settled for the bronze medal.

His double victory over the Olympic legend positions him as the first and last sprinter to beat Bolt twice in any championship.

“I lost the race to a great competitor,” said Bolt, after the final race. “I came third to a young kid that’s coming up… He has a great talent and a great future ahead of him.”

3 - First World Championship gold medal in 2018

Coleman proved his prowess as a 60m runner when he won his first international gold medal at the 2018 World Indoor Championships in Birmingham as a burgeoning 21-year-old American sprint talent.

For his resounding victory, the multi-talented speedster clocked a championship record of 6.37s, smashing Maurice Greene's 6.42s record set in Maebashi in 1991.

His winning time was the second-fastest indoor 60m of all time and the fastest recorded indoor performance at sea level.

2 - World Record holder in 2018

On February 18, 2018, at the US Indoor Championships in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Coleman clocked a new World Record (WR) of 6.34s in the 60m final to break Maurice Greene's near 20-year-old record of 6.39s.

By doing this, he engraved his name as the greatest 60m sprinter in history, owning two of the top 5 fastest times ever recorded in the event and the only man to run under the sub-6.35s mark.

1 - World champion in 2019

On September 28, 2019, Coleman became the world champion in Doha, clocking a scorching personal best time of 9.76s to become the sixth fastest man in history, as well as the third fastest American in history.
