Bukayo Saka returns to Arsenal for further assessment after leaving England camp

Saka went off injured in England's 2-1 loss to Greece on Thursday and Arsenal will be hoping that he does not have an extended stay on the sidelines.

Arsenal fans will hope that Bukayo Saka's further assessment with the club yields positve news as the Gunners look to mount a title challenge.

The Gunners find themselves third on the log with 17 points, just one adrift the English Premier League summit with seven matches played, winning five and drawing two.

Saka has been one of has Arsenal's key threats this season with two goals and seven assists, leading in chances created.

The Hale End graduate will be monumental in Arsenal's title challenge this season and the Emirates faithful will hope he is ready and raring to go after the international break.

The England international has left the national team's camp and will be heading back to London Colney for further assessment on his injury.

"England confirm Bukayo Saka returns to Arsenal with immediate effect leaving the camp for further assessment," reported Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano via his X account.

"His injury will now be assessed by Arsenal staff after initial tests with England."

The Arsenal man sustained the injury in England's 2-1 loss to Greece in the UEFA Nations League, coming off in the 51st minute to be replaced by Chelsea's Noni Madueke on Thursday.

The Three Lions were trailing at the time courtesy of Vangelis Pavlidis' strike early on in the second half before Jude Bellingham leveled it in the 87th minute only for Greece to pull ahead again in stoppage time as Pavlidis completed his brace.

Saka's injury adds to a list of concerns for Gunner's boss Mikel Arteta with captain Martin Odegaard also out for an unspecified time.

Arsenal are poised to take on Bournemouth in the Premier League on October 19 after the international break.
