Diamond League champion and winner of the 200m Athlos event Brittany Brown has commended the women-only track and field event for 'bridging the gender pay-gap' with big pay-day.
Athlos NYC 2024 was no doubt a big payday for the participants as the majority of the winners pocketed Ksh 14.5 million while some pocketed Ksh 10 million.
The women-only track event attracted headliners like America's Brittany Brown, Olympic champion Gabby Thomas and Kenya's triple world champion Faith Kipyegon as well as Olympic champion Mary Moraa.
The ladies were awarded handsomely with mouth-watering cash prizes as well a Tiffany crown instead of traditional medals.
One such was America's Brittany Brown who caused an upset with her victory in the 200m event ahead of Olympic champion and favorite to win the race Gabby Thomas.

Millions Mary Moraa banked at Athlos despite failing to secure victory
Mary Moraa still walked away with a fat pay cheque despite failing to clinch the most coveted Athlos crown at the women’s-only track event in New York.
Brown clocked a stunning 22.18 seconds to cross the finish line ahead of Gabby Thomas who was forced to settle for second place in a time of 22.21 seconds.
"I won more than in the Diamond League. Even if I won both Diamond Leagues it would still be more. It feels great to know that people are doing the work in women's sports," Brown told LetsRundotcom
"It's a niche thing for us. Everyone talks about the pay gap and stuff for women and I think this the way. A space just for us," she added
