'It has a devastating effect'- World Athletics president Sebastian Coe speaks on athlete abuse at Paris 2024
World Athletics has revealed findings of social media abuse targeted at athletes during the 2024 Paris Olympic games with US being most targeted as two unnamed athletes in particular suffer the brunt of the abuse.
The former world cross country bronze medallist added that it is an honour to be associated with former world marathon record holder Brigid Kosgei. She explained that having her in her life is motivation enough and believes that her family is also proud of her.
She promised to continue putting in the work, especially with the NCAA season coming up and she will be eyeing wins in her all the races she competes.
Pamela Kosgei was just fresh-from smashing Parker Valby's course record at the 2024 Wisconsin Pre-Nationals and she expressed optimism that there is more to come. She pointed out that her endurance worked well for her during the race.
“I always feel happy to be Brigid’s family and my family is proud to have two talented runners. I plan to work hard and hopefully win again. The race was good but the course was a little bit hard but I struggled to do my best and push to the limits with the mindset that only the best gets to win,” Pamela Kosgei said.
“On the last lap before I finished the race, I was feeling like my body was tired but towards the end, my body relaxed and I decided to push myself. At the end, I was feeling like there was a lot of wind, that’s why I fell down but I started feeling the heat.”
