Teen sprint star Gout Gout, 16, signed a deal with Adidas deal through 2032.

Teen sprint sensation Gout Gout could give Noah Lyles a run for his money soon after signing with German athletic and footwear brand Adidas.

Noah Lyles has also signed with Adidas and is allegedly one of the brand's most-paid athletes, if not the most-paid athlete.

However, the new signing of Gout Gout might change how things operate since the Australian wunderkind is only 16 and has already started making waves on the athletics scene.

What Noah Lyles has achieved so far surpasses the youngster’s achievements but he is just getting started. Comparisons to Usain Bolt make the whole dynamic interesting and at his young age, he has started making much money.

The deal that Gout Gout signed is worth over $6 million, according to reports by the Daily Mail. The contract with Adidas will run up until the 2032 Olympic Games in Brisbane. The deal was finalised during the World Under-20 Championships in Peru, Lima.

Since he signed the deal, he has been making headlines with his recent performance at the Australian All Schools Championships in Brisbane sparking heated conversations.

Gout Gout shattered Peter Norman's 56-year-old Australian 200m record that stood since 1968. He clocked a stunning 20.04 seconds. His time also improved Usain Bolt’s world age-16 best of 20.13 seconds set back in 2003.

Gout Gout’s manager, James Templeton, revealed that several brands reached out to him, expressing their desire to work with the youngster but Adidas’ patience stood out among all those brands.

The deal is accommodative to the World Under-20 200m silver medallist since it will ensure that Gout Gout completes his education and he will also receive performance-based bonuses when he competes at the World Championships or Olympic Games, not limited to other global events.

The deal also guaranteed him a chance to train with Noah Lyles in Florida next season but his team has yet to confirm if it will be happening.

“Adidas conveyed their desire to secure Gout early on and showed great patience,” Templeton told the Sydney Morning Herald as quoted by the Daily Mail.

“He's a family-oriented, straight-A student at Ipswich Grammar. Moving overseas full-time wasn't an option.”
