Botswana President Mokgweetsi Masisi has given residents in the country a second afternoon off in less than a week to celebrate the gold and silver medal win at Paris Olympics.
Botswana residents have been granted another afternoon off to celebrate the country’s good performance at the Paris Olympics.
Emmah A. Peloetletse, the Permanent Secretary to the President of Botswana, made the announcement through a statement on Monday, saying President Mokgweetsi Eric Keabetwe Masisi found it fitting to give another afternoon off because of the outstanding performance of Team Botswana.
“While the public is invited to join the President to receive our distinguished athletes at the airport, government encourages members of the public to consider heading to the national stadium to avoid congestion which might complicate security and logistical protocols,” the statement further read.

The national outpowering of gratitude to our champions, and the support of the entire Team Botswana is a solid demonstration of the collective pride and hunger that we have for success.”
It is the second time in less than a week that Botswana residents are getting an afternoon off after having been grated the same last Friday following Letsile Tebogo’s gold medal win in the men’s 200m on Thursday.
