Beatrice Chebet has revealed why the Great Chepsaita Cross Country is a good avenue for youngsters from all walks of life to go and compete.
Two-time world cross country champion Beatrice Chebet has lauded efforts from the Great Chepsaita Cross Country organisers as she highlighted the main reasons she will be gracing the event.
The double Olympic champion expressed her excitement towards the event that is scheduled for Saturday, December 7, 2024, in Chepsaita, Turbo. Chebet believes the event not only emphasises the need to nurture young talent but is also keen on embracing education.
Chebet says it is an opportunity for young athletes to showcase their talents and probably get sponsors or open doors for great opportunities for themselves in the future.

Olympic champion Gabby Thomas has wowed fans with recent gesture, extending an olive branch for upcoming athletes to navigate challenges in their transition.
“I’m very excited to be here and I’m grateful to our government and the Chepsaita Cross Country organisers, since he has given a lot of young athletes to nurture their talents,” Beatrice Chebet said.
“Apart from talent, we are running for education and I’m so happy because as a country, we have started balancing between athletics and education and I’m so excited.”
The event, themed "Run and Educate" will be out to work with the children in the community when it comes to education.
Eliud Kipchoge, one of the greatest marathoners to ever live, is a pioneer of education and will also gracing the event. “I will be running for education as you know education is the ultimate equalizer,” Kipchoge said.
The chair of the event, Farouk Kibet, noted that they will be focusing on nurturing young talent and opening education doors for them too.
“Our theme for this year is Run and Educate because this event offers young athletes the chance to expose their talents while also allowing them to better their education through scholarships,” Kibet said in an interview.
