Double Olympic champion Beatrice Chebet is already eying a new chalenge after ending her stellar 2024 season in unforgettable fashion, smashing her own 5km world record in Barcelona on October 31.
The 24-year-old Kenyan clocked an extraordinary 13:54, obliterating her previous record of 14:13, set at the same event in 2023.
With a jaw-dropping improvement of 19 seconds, Chebet continues to solidify her status as a long-distance running phenomenon.

Chebet, who delivered two gold medals at the Paris Olympic games last summer has wrapped up her 2024 in style by smashing yet another record in Barcelona.
“I’m super happy as everything went according to plan,” Chebet said after the race via World Athletics.
"I felt capable of running under 14 and I managed to do so. Two races in Barcelona and two world records, can I ask for more?”
Chebet’s achievements in 2024 have been nothing short of remarkable. Earlier in the year, she successfully defended her world cross-country title.
