Double Olympic champion Beatrice Chebet is not resting on her laurels as she has confirmed her next race scheduled for November 17.

Beatrice Chebet headlines the XLII edition of the Itálica International Cross Country, a World Athletics Cross Country Tour Gold, scheduled for November 17.

The double Olympic champion has enjoyed an amazing 2024 season and will be looking to extend the winning streak to the 2025 season by having a great build-up through running the cross-country races.

Beatrice Chebet will return to one of her favourite places to run, where she has bagged two previous podium finishes and will be out to continue the hot streak. In 2020, Beatrice Chebet finished second and returned the following year, finishing third to a historic Kenyan triple in that 2021 edition.

She proceeded to claim a silver medal in the women’s 5000m at the 2022 World Championships in Eugene, Oregon before rounding up her season with a gold medal in the 5000m at the Commonwealth Games.

In February 2023 she claimed the world cross-country title in Bathurst, before winning the 5000m bronze medal at the World Championships in Budapest. She also won the 5K title at the World Road Running Championships held in Riga.

Chebet wanted to put the finishing touch to her splendid 2023 by breaking the 5K world record in Barcelona on December 31, stopping the clock at 14:13. The 2024 season has also been impeccable for the star athlete who started out by defending her world cross-country title in Belgrade.

Beatrice Chebet then proceeded to the Paris Olympic Games where she claimed the gold medals in the 5000m and 10,000m. Prior to that, she claimed the title in the women’s 10,000m at the Prefontaine Classic in a new world record time.

In Italy, Beatrice Chebet will face the Kazakh Daisy Jepkemei who has been in great shape, a form she recently confirmed in Atapuerca, where she won convincingly.

At 28, the Kenyan-born athlete will be going to Italica for the first time, as will the Frenchwoman, based in Galicia, Alice Finot. Charity Cherop, from Uganda, and Diana Chepkemoi, from Kenya will also be in the mix with Sharon Chepkemoi also in the mix.
