The retired sprinter has opened up about how Noah Lyles or Letsile Tebogo could break Usain Bolt's 200m world record.
Former world 200m champion Ato Boldon has given a condition that must be met for Letsile Tebogo or Noah Lyles to break Usain Bolt’s 200m world record.
The former Trinidadian sprinter explained that Lyles would be the perfect fit to shatter the record but with Tebogo now joining the chat, the two need another athlete like Kenny Bednarek to push them beyond limits.
He singled out the men’s 400m hurdles, noting that the rivalry among Karsten Warholm, Ri Benjamin and Alison Dos Santos is what makes the athletes record faster times.

Retired Trinidadian sprinter claps back at Asafa Powell for rubbishing his claims that Elaine Thompson-Herah is 'done'
Powell had admitted at 'losing respect' for Boldon for claiming Thompson-Herah was finished as a top level athlete, which has prompted the former 200m world champion into clapping back at him.

“I see Tebogo talking about the world record, I don’t think he has the form nor the start to run 9.58 seconds. In terms of 19.19, Tebogo now believes he can break it and that’s dangerous. Bednarek is still going to be a factor but to me, if we have a Warholm, Rai Benjamin and Dos Santos situation where the three of them get hot, like Noah is pissed because he lost or Tebogo is pissed because he does not like how loud and mouthy is and then we have Bednarek trying to beat them, I think now we can have the formula of let’s see if the guys can really approach 19.2,” Boldon said.
He added that Lyles can break the record but it’s until he starts posting more faster times that there will be light at the end of the tunnel.
He added that with the presence of the reigning Olympic 200m champion, faster times will certainly be run but breaking the world record is where uncertainty lies. The 200m world record stands at 19.19 seconds and was set by Usain Bolt at the 2009 World Championships in Berlin.

Letsile Tebogo: How Motswana sprinter is slowly eclipsing Noah Lyles as the face of athletics
Botswana sprint sensation Letsile Tebogo has claimed that he is not the face of athletics yet but his recent exploits suggest it won't be long before he eclipses American rival Noah Lyles.
“I always said Noah, I thought he had a chance since he’s already within the point and all he needs is the right situation because regular Noah against regular Tebogo, now we can start talking about 19.2 and if we are talking about 19.2, I think maybe, we can start talking about 19.1,” he shared.
