The four-time Olympic medallist revealed why he has lost faith in African sprinters, ruling out all of them in his prediction for podium finishers in the men's 100m final at the Olympic Games.
Former 200m World Champion Ato Boldon has predicted his podium finishers of the men’s 100m at the Paris Olympic Games, ruling out all the African sprinters.
Boldon explained that his top three finishers will be Noah Lyles, Kishane Thompson and Kenny Bednarek. He defended Bednarek, noting that injuries slowed him down last season but he has always been a medallist in all big events.

“My podium is Lyles, Thompson and Bednarek…You know what Kenny does? Kenny wins medals, and in fact, save from last year, Kenny wins medals every year, so I’m not one of those who will discard him,” Boldon told Letsrun.com.
“I’m not trusting Oblique Seville anymore because I picked him to medal twice at the last two World Championships but he was fourth. So, I’m not trusting him,” he added.
The 2000 Sydney Olympic Games silver medallist added that after Letsile Tebogo losing his mother, he does not expect a lot from him.
He added that Ferdinand Omanyala and Akani Simbine do not show up in the final the way they should, hence ruling them out of the podium places.
He added that Great Britain’s Zharnel Hughes also struggles to impress in the final of global championships, hence not banking on him to medal at the Olympics.
