Kipyegon was awarded the house after breaking her second successive world record in a span of a week.
After breaking her second world record in a span of a week, triple world record holder Faith Kipyegon was treated to a grand reception in State House on June 13 and awarded a token of Ksh 5 million and a house.
Questions had been raised concerning whether the two-time World 1500m champion was given the house or not yet and Athletics Kenya president Jack Tuwei has cleared the air concerning the issue.

Speaking during the flagging off of Team Kenya to the World Championships in Budapest, Hungary, Tuwei noted that the house is ready and they are just awaiting Kipyegon to avail herself so she can be handed over the house.
“I want to assure the CS that the issue of affordable housing that was announced by H.E the President last time that we have followed up, particularly for Kipyegon. The house is ready and we shall be unveiling it soon.
We have seen the house and it is ready. It is at the place that we were told. We are ready with that and as soon as Kipyegon is available we shall show her the three-bedroomed house that has been allocated to her,” Tuwei said.
Meanwhile, Kipyegon was awarded due to her exploits that saw her break the 1500m world record in the Diamond League Meeting in Florence, Italy before breaking the 5000m world record in Paris, France, in less than a week.
Also awarded was Africa’s fastest man Ferdinand Omanyala for his dominant exploits in the Diamond League Meetings. He was awarded Ksh 2 million.
Omanyala opened his Diamond League campaign in Rabat, Morocco where he finished third. He then went to the Meetings in Florence, Italy, and Paris, France where he finished second in both events.
