The men's 100m qualifying heats witnessed the Nigerian trio of Favour Ashe, Alaba Akintola, and Godson Brume all making the quarterfinals at the Eastern regionals.
Ashe, representing the University of Auburn (AU), blazed to the fastest time in the heats with a time of 10.03s (2.3m/s) ahead of Louisiana State University's (LSU) Brandon Hicklin in 10.04s.
He'll gun to lower this time in the quarterfinals to punch his ticket to the NCAA Championships.
Akintola also won his heat in 10.07s (2.7) to win his heat and automatically qualify. His time was the fifth fastest in the rounds. He made it double wins in the 200m, with a convincing win in 20.25s to make the quarterfinals.
Finally, Brume made it through after a second place finish in his heat in 10.07s (1.7) to secure his spot. The South Eastern Conference champion is one of the favourites to punch a ticket to the NCAA Championships.
Meanwhile, Akintola and Brume are placed in the same quarterfinal heat, and they'll be aiming to push each other to their best as they race for the top two spots.
